Circus maximus
Circus Maximus was located in Rome, Italy. Parts of it still remain, though most of it doesn't. Circus Maximus was used as a chariot racing stadium, could hold around 150,000 spectators and was 621 metres long and 118 metres wide. Circus Maximus was the first stadium in ancient Rome, and it was the biggest. A range of events took place in Circus Maximus. Some of these events were chariot racing, public feasts, religious ceremonies, athletics, and more. Today the area where Circus Maximus was is a public park.
